What Nazra Means

What Is Nazra Quran Reading?

Nazra means reading the Quran by looking at the text, as opposed to reciting from memory. A Nazra course trains the student to read every word correctly, with the right vowels and rules, until whole pages flow without stopping.

Who should join?

Students who know the Arabic letters, usually after Noorani Qaida, but still read slowly or make mistakes.

Do I need Qaida first?

If you cannot yet recognise the letters and vowel signs, yes. Your teacher checks this in the free trial.

Questions and Answers

Quran Reading for Beginners: Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to learn to read the Quran online?

With 4 to 5 classes a week, many students who have finished Qaida read fluently within 6 to 12 months. Adults with daily practice often progress faster.

Is this course for adults or kids?

Both. We teach children under 18 and adult women. Each student has their own one-to-one class at their own pace.

What is the difference between Nazra and Tajweed?

Nazra focuses on reading every word correctly and fluently. Tajweed goes deeper into pronunciation rules. Most students learn basic Tajweed during Nazra and then take a full Tajweed course.

Which Mushaf do you use?

We can teach from the Mushaf you use at home, whether it is the Indo-Pak script or the Madani (Uthmani) script.

Can I learn to read the Quran online for free?

Your first 3 classes are free. After that you choose a monthly plan. See our free trial page.
