What Is Juz Amma and Why Memorize It First?
Juz Amma is the 30th and last Juz of the Quran. It begins with Surah An-Naba (Amma yatasa'alun) and ends with Surah An-Nas, 37 surahs in all. Most of them are short, which is why Juz Amma memorization is the first Hifz goal for so many children and adults.
These are the surahs we recite most in salah, so learning them well brings your prayer to life. Many children start from Surah An-Nas and work backwards, one short surah at a time, while women often memorize alongside their children.
